Nam Houng-1 Dam Hydropower Project in Laos successfully Commissioned | Lao Deputy Prime Minister attends the inauguration ceremony

On October 28, 2023, a grand inauguration ceremony was held at the site of the Nam Houng-1 Dam Hydropower Project in Sayaboury Province, Laos, marking the successful completion and commissioning of the project.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Sonexay Siphandone - Deputy Prime Minister of Laos, the Minister of Energy and Mines, the Governor of Sayaboury Province, and heads of relevant departments and agencies, as well as the Chairman and General Manager of Simon Group (the owner of the project) and more than 100 representatives from related construction entities and local residents. Ni Zhijing, director of the International Business Division of Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jinlun”), was invited to attend the ceremony.
The Nam Houng Dam Hydropower Plant is located in Sayaboury, a province over 800 kilometers away from the capital city, and was designed to export electricity generated to Thailand upon completion and commissioning. The project was funded by the Lao Simon Group (SMG). Jinlun, as an EPC contractor for the project, was responsible for the provision of relevant equipment and the installation and commissioning of the equipment provided. The project started construction in April 2016 and was completed and put into operation in August 2023.
With a total installed capacity of 15MW, the project features a design head of H=20.5m and a flow rate of Qp=29m³/s for individual units. It comprises three sets of axial-flow adjustable-blade hydro-turbine generator units and their auxiliary equipment, specifically the Turbine model ZZJ440-LJ-215 and Generator model SF5000-20/3250.
Jinlun will continue to enhance its presence in the Lao hydropower market, providing high-quality products and services to Laotian clients and promoting large-scale application of hydropower equipment.
