2025-06-10 14:32

On the afternoon of May 22, 2025, an expert team from Pakistan’s Naltar III Hydropower Plant Project arrived at Jinlun to carry out an on-site acceptance inspection of hydro turbine units and associated equipment that were to be deployed in the project. Led by Project Director Niamat Khan, the expert team included technical expert Hafiz Nazim Shabbir, and Project Director Syed Zahid Hussain Kazmi, as well as Project Development Manager Muhammad Imran Choudhry and Director Nabeel Tahir from Al-FAJR International. The acceptance inspection was conducted in the company of Jinlun’s own expert team.

The 16 MW Naltar III Hydropower Plant is located in Gilgit, Pakistan, with an installed capacity of 3×5,340 kW. After being officially awarded the contract in 2024, Jinlun, adhering to the design principles of “efficiency, safety, reliability, and environmental friendliness”, was committed to an all-out endeavor to make hydropower equipment fully compliant with international standards. To ensure the core equipment met all design specifications and laid a solid foundation for subsequent on-site installation and commissioning, the project team formulated a detailed and comprehensive Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) plan. This FAT was rigorously executed from May 22 to May 29, 2025, marking a crucial step towards the successful delivery of the project.

Turbine Inspection and Acceptance

Focus: To validate the functionality and performance parameters of hydro turbines in a comprehensive manner to ensure their compliance with specifications.

Generator Inspection and Acceptance

Focus: To validate the core performance indicators and critical functions of generators.

Electrical Tests

Focus: To conduct a series of tests in respect of the units’ critical electrical performance and safety.

Valve Inspection and Acceptance

Focus: To test the valves for operability, sealing performance, and reliability.

Governor/Excitation System Inspection and Acceptance

Focus: To verify key performance indicators, including control accuracy, response speed, and system stability.

Transformer Inspection and Acceptance

Focus: To conduct all required type tests and factory acceptance tests to ensure the transformers’ performance and safety compliance.

The week-long acceptance process commenced on the afternoon of May 22, 2025, starting from the first stop at Jinlun (based in Jinhua, Zhejiang) and proceeding with on-site inspections in Chaozhou (Guangdong), Changsha (Hunan), Wuhan (Hubei), and Hangzhou (Zhejiang). The final acceptance of the Naltar project was successfully completed on May 28, 2025.

The meticulous planning and execution of this acceptance program demonstrated the Naltar project team’s uncompromising commitment to equipment quality. The eight-day intensive and professional testing and audit ensured that every critical piece of equipment met the highest standards, guaranteeing the plant’s safe, stable, and efficient operation for decades to come.

Jinlun will continue to follow up on field installation, commissioning, and user training in respect of the system to ensure that the project will be put into operation as scheduled.
